ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
I am Dana
Yup. That's me. A Colorado Native with a 16 year hiatus in Los Angeles, bringing me back in 2014. I started photography during my undergrad at Pomona College in Claremont, CA. Keep in mind that photography was still film then, and I spent my days inhaling fumes from the darkroom chemicals. That may explain a lot about me...
Like many people, my career path has taken some interesting twists and turns to get me to where I am today. Very early on, I recognized the importance of humor and found my way into improv comedy in college. From there I studied with, performed at, and photographed one of LA's top comedy clubs while taking headshots on the side.
Then the real stuff happened. For ten years I worked as a television studio executive developing new comedies for NBC, then as a producer for networks such as NBC, TBS, and USA. I was a story and comedy guru, always needing a creative outlet. After getting my MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Business, and a job in content strategy at an award winning advertising firm, I moved back to Denver and picked up the camera again.
Photography is now an extension of my professional career in entertainment. Have you ever thought about what you’re really looking at when you see a promotional poster for a movie or show? You’re seeing a representation of an entire idea in one visual image - the tone of the show, the plot, and the characters ALL have to be captured at once. I loved that part of my job, and am excited to bring THAT kind of content to Denver - for families, Seniors, and businesses.
